Caty was the young wife of Gen. Nathanael Greene. Not content to stay home with the children, she joined her husband in winter quarters at Monmouth NJ (where she gave birth to one of their sons) and Valley Forge PA. The author wrote this biography based on their letters.

I read this book aloud to my family before Christmas. The book brought up many similar memories for us.

Although the cover is rather plain the interior of this book is very pleasing. The type, color and layout are excellent for a book in this price range. The book is basically two chapters, the first is about his childhood memories about selecting and cutting a Christmas tree. The second part is about his first Christmas shopping trip. Both of these take place in West Texas during the Depression. Greene blends the views of a young boy along with a skillful description of the activities and place. The last page is particularly meaningful.

A thoroughly enjoyable read.

My children are already fascinated with game of golf because their father is a golf nut. This book puts many of the golf rules and safety concerns into easy to understand kid language. It's a great place to start when introducing your child to golf. A word of caution...the quiz at the end is a great review, but some of the questions are worded in a tricky way for young children to answer correctly (and for anyone else who isn't "test-savvy"). The illustrations are charming, too.

The author gives you a real feeling for the lives women emigrating from German speaking countries. It is very informative and quite a good reference. I found it somewhat difficult reading because of the numerous citations and language style.

Very good if you want to find out about the experiences of the German speaking immigrant woman.

This is the first book I've read by J.R. Greene. It's a starting point for me in my research of the Quabbin Reservoir history. This volume concentrates on the final days of the four towns that were sacrificed for Boston's water supply. Much of the information is from people who lived in these towns, some right up until the very end. I am ordering other books by J.R. Greene in order to continue my research. Most of these books are already out of print and hard to come by.

This wonderful calendar of GD events has as a forward the first known interview with Jerry. It was recorded at the Dead House at 710 Ashbury sometime early in 1967 either Feruary or March. It was just prior to the release of the Dead's first album. Areas discussed include, What is a hippie?,What is the San Francisco Sound all about?,long hair, drugs, the Hells Angels, comments on current groups like the Monkeys the British invasion, other SF bands, the Vietnam War, and of course music in general. Jerry's unrehearsed answers to these timely questions gives you a rare insight into the mind of a legend.

I am a structured settlement consultant who has worked in thousands of injury cases over 20 years. Although I have not participated in many jury trials, I know the way that jury verdicts effect settlements and the entire litigation system.

This is an even handed, well researched view of how damages are determined. I am buying several copies to send to friends who are trial lawyers.

A better book for seeing a case from start to finish, (less academic and more of a dramatic story) is a book entitled Damages. However, this book is one that participants in the litigation system should read.

Includes strong literature on the structural isolation of lesbians and gay males and how the creation of a subculture leads to negative stereotypes, warped images, and fictional creations that are used to justify oppression of members of the disadvantaged group. Depicts and explains the homophobic image of homosexuals as a small, self-interested group, favoring their own, commanding a disproportionate world influence. Relates homophobia to other oppressed groups, including Jews as self-interested and cliquish, and African American males as sexual predators. The book also addresses how homophobes justify their behavior through logic and morality. Finally, it provides interesting research on reducing homophobia, including studies on contact and cooperation as means to resolve group conflict.

Don't let this book's low cost decieve you, this was a great help to me when I had to do a research paper over the tour. VERY INFORMATIVE!!!

This book was a surprising book. I use the combacks to people that are rude to me. I use the insults for anyone. It is a pretty good book and I'd recomend it to anyone who has trouble standing up to bullies. This book also made me laugh all over. Read it today!
